Kelli Canady

Artist Bio:

Kelli Canady, a life-long maker from Columbus, Ohio, has explored a wide range of media—painting, drawing, fiber arts, sculpture, and more—guided by curiosity and a passion for making. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from The Ohio State University in 2006, and over the years her practice has evolved through abstract acrylics, life and still-life drawing, watercolor, loom weaving, embroidery, pottery, and carpentry. In 2025, she embraced oil painting, exploring impressionistic forms and textures in a medium she had not previously studied extensively.

Kelli’s work seeks the wondrous in the everyday: the flicker of sunlight on a sunflower, the quiet presence of a toad in the garden, the delicate movement of a bee in flight. She begins from sensation first, allowing observation, attentiveness, and curiosity to guide each piece. Through her art, she invites viewers to linger, to notice, and to discover beauty in ordinary moments.
